Glossary
PowerVM
IBM's hypervisor for Power servers, enabling logical partitioning (LPAR) so a single physical Power 11 system can run multiple independent IBM i, AIX, and Linux instances.
PowerVM underlies virtualization on every Power 11 model. It works alongside VIOS to share physical adapters and storage across partitions, and is a prerequisite for most enterprise Power 11 consolidation designs.
