AS/400
IBM's original 1988 midrange server line and the common industry shorthand still used today for the IBM i and Power server ecosystem.
IBM's platform has been renamed several times since 1988 (AS/400, iSeries, System i, Power Systems), but "AS/400" remains the highest-search-volume term buyers use to describe the same lineage that Power 11 continues today. When someone reaches this glossary while searching AS400 power requirements, they are usually checking whether a Power 11 refresh can fit the room, rack, UPS, PDU, cooling, and service plan.
